Students, families and staff at the Aldie Campus collected shoes for Soles4Souls as their annual Holiday Charity. Performing community service is part of the Montessori philosophy of helping develop and educate the whole child. By donating their gently used shoes students learn the joy of giving of themselves, and develop compassion because of these real, practical life experiences. |

In true Montessori “hands on” fashion the Kindergarteners used the shoes as a math exercise. First counting all the shoes, then using division to figure out the number of pairs and finally pairing them to check their calculation. The children were thrilled to announce the school collected 54 pairs of shoes. |
